ITINERARY

DAY 1 DELHI - AGRA

Arrive Delhi and proceed for the Mughal city Agra ( 205 kms / 4 hrs drive approx), check-in to your hotel. This afternoon visit the Agra fort, built by the great Emperor Akbar, and to the Taj Mahal, built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal. The evening is at leisure for shopping and individual activities. Overnight at the hotel

DAY 2 AGRA – JAIPUR

After breakfast, you will drive to the Pink city, Jaipur (221 kms/5 hrs). Enroute visit the Fatehpur Sikri, the deserted red sandstone city built by the Mughal Emperor Akbar. Rest of the day is at leisure. Evening you have an option to visit Chokhi Dhani, an ethnic Rajasthani village on the outskirts of Jaipur OR explore the city on your own. Overnight at the hotel

DAY 3 JAIPUR

After breakfast, visit the Amber fort, built in 16th century. Enjoy an Elephant ride at Amber (On your own). Drive past the Hawa Mahal, a Palace of winds. In the afternoon visit the City Palace and Museum. Walk to the adjacent Jantar Mantar- an astronomical observatory. Rest of the evening is at leisure. Overnight at the hotel

DAY 4 JAIPUR-DELHI

After breakfast, transfer to Delhi (275 Kms / 6 hrs drive). On arrival in Delhi you will be transferred to airport /railway station for your onward journey or take an extension to Delhi.

EXTENSION – DELHI - 2 NIGHTS / 3 DAYS

DELHI: The capital city of modern India has behind it centuries of history, which has enriched its culture. Nowhere has tradition blended with modernity on a scale as evident in Delhi - age-old monuments stand cheek by jowl with ultra modern hi-rise buildings. Today the old and new city combine to present a harmonious whole, offering the traveler, elegant shops, broad laburnum lined avenues, sun warmed elegant forts and mosques and colorful bazaars.

DAY 01 : ARRIVE DELHI

Arrive Delhi, transfer and check-in at the hotel. Afternoon visit the 12th century Qutub Minar, gracefully hand-carved for its entire height of 234ft, and the iron pillar, which has withstood the ravages of time and not rusted even after 1500 years. Visit the mausoleum of emperor Humayun - a forerunner of the Mughal style of architecture. Drive past the India Gate, the President's residence - formerly the Viceroy's Palace, Parliament House and the Secretariat buildings, - an interesting blend of the Victorian and 20th century architecture.

Later vist the Swaminarayan Akshardham which epitomises 10,000 years of Indian culture in all its breathtaking grandeur, beauty, wisdom and bliss. It brilliantly showcases the essence of India's ancient architecture, traditions and timeless spiritual messages. The Akshardham experience is an enlightening journey through India's glorious art, values and contributions for the progress, happiness and harmony of mankind. Overnight at the hotel.

DAY 02 : DELHI

After breakfast, visit Jama Masjid, - the largest mosque in India, and the magnificent Red Fort, - a marvel in red sandstone, built on the banks of River Yamuna by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan. Drive past Chandni Chowk, once an imperial avenue of Mughal Royalty which today is the busiest commercial area of the city. Visit Raj Ghat (memorial to Mahatma Gandhi). Afternoon is free for shopping and personal activity. Overnight at the hotel.

DAY 3 : DELHI – DEPART

After breakfast, transfer to airport / railway station for your onward journey.
